Ask yourself….What is the Point?

The blue circle is the global symbol for diabetes, introduced by the International Diabetes Federation with the aim of giving diabetes a common identity, supporting existing efforts to raise awareness of diabetes and placing the diabetes epidemic firmly in the public spotlight. I was sitting in a hot tub in Cabo.

Unexpectedly, I heard the voice of a man I heard three years ago—in the same hot tub!

I checked with him and sure enough it was Jay, a lawyer from Minnesota. I met Jay in the same hot tub three years ago. This time Jay had a few friends with him and we all solved the world’s problems right there and then.

Except for one.

One of the men’s teenagers was diagnosed with Diabetes a few weeks prior to their trip to Mexico.

A few days later, after we connected again, during sunsets, and we agreed that there is a need to do something to raise money for diabetes research. I suggested that we run a marathon in 2013, in Minnesota (Twin Cities) to raise money for this worthy cause.

It is now a done deal. We will be doing that.

Doug, one of the Jay’s friends suggested we refer to this marathon as “The Event” And from now onwards it will be known as “The Event”

I encourage you to consider donating money to Diabetes research for that marathon next year. As we get closer I will give more information

But here is the question. What is the point of this story? It is simple.

Together we can achieve more and often we meet people for a reason. Be open and alert. By doing so you can live by example……. and that is the greatest gift you can bestow on others.
