I was born in South Africa and left that country in 1983.
When the news broke that Nelson Mandela died, I was called by the Canadian Broadcasting Company for a comment. (I felt that Mr. Mandela deserved all the accolades)
Yet, since then I have been sent e-mails and articles which paint him as a terrorist . The authors of these writings are aiming to remind us that there are no saints.
All of this brings me to the point of this blog:
Can we all try and do a better job of first counting what any person did right with their lives?
I am working on that task and it is hard to do when we encounter those who rub us the wrong way.
Billy Graham reminded me that our task is to love others. God’s task is to judge. It seems to match the words of Christ who said “judge not lest you be judged”
To live your life by example, try to always count what is right about another person.
