While running this morning I realized that I am guilty of the same thing you are guilty of:
—Taking things for granted
After my run I sat in the sun, reflecting upon my good health, my loving family and the privilege I have of taking vacations. (I am currently enjoying some time off with my family in Beautiful British Columbia)
I read somewhere that if you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have spare change in a dish somewhere it puts you in the top 8% of the worlds wealthy.
This is not to sound preachy, but it is to remind ourselves that we should sit down at times, take a pen and paper and make a list of things we have taken for granted. Review that list often.
Next time you hear the coins in your pocket remember you are the exception. The rest of this world has less.
