All of us are busy. So there is no way that you will be able to do more than you are doing already. You are maxed out. Your energy is low and you are dry. I know because my wife, a mother of 4 kids between the ages of 9 and 17 tells me she is always tired and I can see why. I salute all the busy mothers out there.

What is the point of me telling you to watch what you do during the last 5 minutes of your day?

It is simply a reminder that psychologists tell us that the last 5 minutes are the most important 5 minutes of the whole day. What you put into your mind affects your sleep. It may set the stage for the next day. It impacts your subconscious mind.

It is what I call “Automatic Moments” All of us have to spend the last 5 minutes before we go to sleep. You don’t have to make the time…it will happen automatically regardless of how busy or tired you are; regardless of how long your to-do list already stretches

Here is the challenge to you: watch how you spend those important last minutes before you rest for the night. For some it may mean reading from an inspirational book; for some it may be listing the things of the day that went well and deliberately ignoring the negative of that day; some may pray with a spouse; some may just be still and tune out all thinking intentionally. Decide what you want to do with the last 5 minutes of your day—it’s that simple. You either will or you won’t.
